HOW-TO FreeBSD 6.0 IPLess Bridging Firewall using PF   Thu Nov 17 05:30:04 EST 2005
The recent crash of my IPFW FreeBSD machine got me looking into firewalls again. I wanted to see if there were better ways to set up the firewall so I could be alerted of the firewall's status so something like this doesn't happen again. I set up a like firewall but this time added a 3rd NIC card so that the machine could access the network and report on its activity. As it's set up right now, I am getting ARP errors on the MAC address reporting that the IP address is in use on another MAC. I am looking into a totally different solution using FreeBSD 6.x and OpenBSD's PF Firewall.
ICUHost.Net Billing Manager   Thu Aug 25 13:52:10 EDT 2005
Way back when I first started hosting on Windows servers I built a billing application using ASP. As the network developed and I began to use more and more solutions running via FreeBSD and MySQL databases, it becomes apparent that I will be able to manage the network better and billing by migrating this original billing system over to a PHP/MySQL solution and it will be more informative and automated than its dated predecessor ... Having the Billing manager written in PHP and utilizing a MySQL database, I will be able to run unattended events and automate much of the domain processing here. That would be a big help.
Sending MIME Email   Thu Aug 25 13:37:44 EDT 2005
In sending email from most band and club sites, they want HTML emails to be sent. While sending HTML emails without verifying whether or not the recipient can accept them works, it's not a very friendly way to go about it. I have found a class written in PHP that will allow me to build an HTML email as well as a plain text email and send them together and the client will decide which email to display. They can be two totally different emails, but there is no sense in that.

magpierss   Sun Jan 23 05:39:38 EST 2005
Magpierss; looking into creating a page to summarize the RSS feeds I would be into. Also want to look into a way to incorporate rss feeds into web sites I develop. I thought this was the tool to use, but it seems magpierss is for just retrieving feeds. Here is my test page
Smarty Template Engine   Wed Dec 29 14:36:53 EST 2004
Testing Smarty Templating Engine; The more I code in PHP, the more I think I would like to get into using a templating system to separate the PHP code from the display HTML. I could re-design an entire web site without ever touching the original code.
Firewall   07/12/04 05:11:13
Looking for a way to protect my network without having to purchase an expensive firewall appliance. I had heard of free alternatives such as SmoothWall and m0n0wall, but they didn't solve my problem. SmoothWall had an option to purchase in essence a commercial solution, but that being an option was just incentive to keep looking. When the Windows boxes decided to not like the software firewalls, it was obviously time for a better alternative. Listed below are the links to the places on the web I found a solution.
